The radiation imaging apparatus has a function of detecting start and end of radiation emission and an emission amount of radiation. The radiation imaging apparatus includes: a plurality of pixels configured to generate a signal according to a radiation dose; a signal line connected to the plurality of pixels; a read circuit configured to read a signal from the pixel via the signal line and generate a value according to the signal; and a control unit configured to control an operation of the read circuit.
