Zusammenfassung:An optical assembly is disclosed in which two input pupils (52, 54) of light are projected onto an input grating (4). The input pupils (52, 54) may be overlapping or non-overlapping. The input grating (4) is configured to receive input pupils (52, 54) and to diffract them such that the input pupils are coupled towards the output element (6) in parallel directions laterally spaced apart from each other. The input pupils (52, 54) may be received at a first portion (12) and a second portion (14) of the output element (6) on either side of the demarcation line (13), respectively.
