The pyracantha fortuneana fruit polysaccharide extracted by a hot water extraction method is further separated and purified by using a DEAE ion chromatography column, and the pyracantha fortuneana fruit purified polysaccharide with remarkable anti-light damage activity is obtained. The pyracantha fortuneana fruit purified polysaccharide provided by the invention can play a light injury protection role in ways of remarkably reducing the apoptosis level of UVB-injured HaCaT cells, remarkably improving the oxidative stress state in UVB-injured skin cells, inhibiting intracellular mitochondrial membrane potential level reduction caused by UVB injury and the like.
