COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR INFUSION OF DRUGS INTO THE BLADDER

The present invention relates to a biphasic composition for infusion into a body cavity, such as a bladder or kidney, for the delivery of an active agent, the biphasic composition comprising a phase A and a phase B, where phase A is a hydrophilic hydrogel; phase B is a liquid organic solution of a hydrophobic polymer, silicon or wax (phase B) wherein a core is formed in situ in the bladder upon infusion of phase B into phase A, and wherein the core formed intercepts and allows extended release of the active agent.
