Traction battery with internal battery pack sensing module

The invention provides a traction battery with an internal battery pack sensing module. A battery, such as a traction battery for an electrically powered vehicle (EV), includes a battery sensor, such as a battery pack sensing module (BPSM), internally disposed within a housing of the battery. The battery also includes one or more arrays of battery cells disposed within the housing. Each battery cell array includes a battery cell and a printed circuit board (PCB) electrically connected to a voltage sensing lead associated with the battery cell. The battery also includes a main PCB disposed within the housing and electrically connected to the battery cell array PCB.
