The invention relates to a grate type chain plate precleaner which comprises a shell, a conveying assembly, a driving assembly, a screen tooth assembly and an excitation assembly, the conveying assembly is installed in the shell and comprises two rows of conveying chains which are spaced front and back and operate synchronously, a driving chain wheel and a return chain wheel, and the driving chain wheel and the return chain wheel are meshed with the conveying chains respectively; the driving assembly is connected with the driving chain wheel and used for driving the driving chain wheel to rotate so as to drive the conveying chain and the return chain wheel to rotate. The screen tooth assembly comprises a shaft pipe and multiple comb teeth, the two ends of the shaft pipe are fixedly connected with chain links of a conveying chain through pin shafts, the multiple comb teeth are evenly inserted into the shaft pipe front and back at intervals, and the shaft pipe can rotate relative to the pin shafts.
