The flame-retardant leather preparation process comprises the following steps of softening, retanning, neutralizing, filling and dyeing, fat liquoring and color register. Melamine, tetrakis (hydroxymethyl) phosphonium sulfate, glutaraldehyde and aluminum sulfate are utilized to construct a nitrogen-phosphorus-aluminum synergistic flame-retardant filler, and the nitrogen-phosphorus-aluminum synergistic flame-retardant filler is introduced into collagen fiber bundles of leather through a replacement method and a filling process, so that the leather has good synergistic flame-retardant performance, and the flame-retardant grade can reach UL 94V-0.
