description The invention provides a preparation method and application of a disulfide defect molybdenum sulfide/indium zinc sulfide (MoS2-x/ZnIn2S4-x) composite catalyst. The material has good application in the aspect of photocatalytic hydrogen production. The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly, taking ammonium molybdate and thiourea as raw materials, and hydrothermally preparing defective molybdenum sulfide MoS2-x in a polytetrafluoroethylene high-pressure reaction kettle; then zinc acetate and indium chloride (and thioacetamide) are used as raw materials, defective molybdenum sulfide is added, and finally the mixture is transferred into a polytetrafluoroethylene high-pressure reaction kettle for hydrothermal treatment, washing and drying to obtain the double-sulfur defective molybdenum sulfide/indium zinc sulfide MoS2-x/ZnIn2S4-x (MSv/ZISv).
