The invention provides a road vehicle height automatic measuring device which is installed at the top end of a stand column on one side of a road and comprises a shell, a laser radar and a single-chip microcomputer are installed in the shell, the single-chip microcomputer is provided with an input/output interface, the laser radar is electrically connected with the input interface of the single-chip microcomputer, and the laser radar is electrically connected with the output interface of the single-chip microcomputer. The laser radar is used for scanning to obtain two-dimensional plane distance data; the single chip microcomputer is used for executing an algorithm; and the input/output interface is used for transmitting early warning information.
