Process for manufacture of isophorone diamines

The invention relates to a method for producing IPDA, comprising the following steps: V. converting IPN into IPDA with ammonia and hydrogen, VI. Removing hydrogen and/or ammonia from the effluent from step I; vII. The effluent from step II is separated in one or more steps into (v) a fraction comprising an organic phase having a boiling point lower than IPDA, (vi) a fraction comprising an aqueous phase having a boiling point lower than IPDA, (vii) a fraction comprising IPDA, (viii) a fraction comprising components having a boiling point higher than IPDA; and VIII.
