Extracting extraction information from scanning information of surface for use with database

The invention relates to a device having a processing unit intended to obtain scan information provided by a detection unit from a scan of a surface, the scan information comprising information about intrinsic characteristics of the surface. The processing unit is further intended to extract extracted information of the intrinsic features from the scan information, and to perform a comparison with a database on the basis of the extracted information, in which the extracted information of a plurality of intrinsic features of the surface is stored.
