The invention relates to a repair method for a chassis rail of a vehicle. In one exemplary embodiment, a method of repairing a chassis rail of a vehicle includes identifying a marker on the chassis rail. The mark indicates where to cut the chassis stringer. The method also includes cutting the chassis rail proximate the indicia to form a cut chassis rail portion. The method further includes sliding a replacement rail assembly onto the cut chassis rail portion. The replacement stringer assembly includes a replacement stringer, an inner support portion secured within the replacement stringer, and a bracket at least partially surrounding the replacement stringer and secured to the replacement stringer. The bracket includes one or more fastener through channels.
