Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine. When the amount of PM collected by the GPF reaches a predetermined amount, the CPU executes a regeneration process for regenerating the GPF. Namely, the CPU stops the supply of fuel to any one of the cylinders # 1 to # 4, and increases the amount of fuel supplied to the remaining cylinders. When the temperature of the three-way catalyst is equal to or higher than the first temperature, the CPU increases the injection amount in order to decrease the temperature of the exhaust gas. The CPU does not increase the injection amount when the temperature of the three-way catalyst is equal to or greater than the first temperature during the execution of the regeneration process.
