The method comprises the following steps that target oil reservoir development geological data are collected, and a geological model of a target oil reservoir is constructed; carrying out target oil reservoir development numerical simulation, dividing each grid unit by adopting a geologic model space, and obtaining an extra-high water cut period remaining oil space distribution result; grid unit characteristic parameters and remaining oil data are extracted, and a remaining oil classification evaluation index system is constructed; and performing unsupervised clustering analysis on the remaining oil, and determining a remaining oil classification evaluation limit.
