Machine, system and method for preparing random webs

A method of forming a random web using a pneumatic fiber delivery system is disclosed. The method includes providing a plurality of movable devices including a licker-in and a conveyor, the licker-in configured to remove a plurality of fibers from a fibrous mat conveyed by the conveyor near the licker-in. The method further includes shedding the plurality of fibers from the licker-in at a shedding location within the system. The method further includes communicating a gas source to entrain the plurality of fibers with the gas source after the shedding. The method also includes controlling the gas source within a flow path between the licker-in and collector.
