Support for high pressure permeable membrane

The present invention relates to a support for a filtration membrane construction formed with a first set of protrusions and a second set of protrusions in opposite directions. At least some of the first protrusions may be shaped to have a top region forming a contact surface configured toward the filtration membrane. A support for a filtration membrane may be formed with first and second sets of protrusions in opposite directions, wherein at least some of the first protrusions are connected to a porous sheet forming the support for the filtration membrane.
