The preparation method comprises the following steps: by taking 3-hydroxy-4-acetyl biphenyl and 4-formyl benzoic acid as initial raw materials, carrying out aldol condensation reaction to generate HBOB; the HBOB is subjected to an oxidation cyclization reaction to prepare HPCB; and carrying out esterification on the HPCB and hydroxyl on ethyl cellulose, so as to prepare the EC-HPCB. Under the irradiation of 365nm ultraviolet light, after Fe < 3 + > is added into a DMSO-H2O solution of EC-HPCB, the fluorescence color of the solution is changed from orange yellow to colorless, the detection limit of Fe < 3 + > reaches 2.65 * 10 mol/L, the response time is 2 minutes, and the fluorescent probe can be used as a fluorescent probe for detecting Fe < 3 + > and has a good application prospect.
