The control method comprises the steps that at least one parameter indicating whether the limited slip differential is in a first state or not is obtained; and a controller of the limited slip differential sends a signal to the instrument panel based on the at least one parameter and displays prompt information, wherein in the first state, the limited slip differential cannot reach the preset locking torque, the at least one parameter comprises the vehicle inclination angle alpha and the wheel speed difference delta V = V1-V2, V1 is the rotating speed of a left wheel, and V2 is the rotating speed of a right wheel.
