Compositions and methods for treating aging and age-related diseases and symptoms

Disclosed herein are methods for (a) inhibiting, attenuating, slowing or preventing aging in a subject, (b) for treating, inhibiting, alleviating or preventing an age-related disease in the subject, and/or (c) for increasing lifespan in the subject comprising administering to the subject one or more glutamic acid compounds, such as alpha-ketoglutaric acid; and/or one or more glutamic acid compounds, such as 2-hydroxyglutaric acid; and compositions thereof. 本文公开用于(a)抑制、减弱、减缓或预防受试者的衰老，(b)用于治疗、抑制、减轻或预防所述受试者的与年龄相关的疾病，和/或(c)用于增加所述受试者的寿命的方法，其包括向所述受试者施用一种或多种谷氨酸化合物，诸如α-酮戊二酸；和/或一种或多种谷氨酸化合物，诸如2-羟基戊二酸；及其组合物。
