The invention discloses a method for calculating the moisture content of a round bamboo air-dried timber. The method comprises the following steps: testing the initial moisture content of moso bamboo;in the air drying process, monitoring values of environment temperature, humidity and wind speed parameters; establishing a formula of the moisture content of the air-dried material relative to the environmental parameters, substituting the actually measured values of the environmental parameters into the formula, respectively calculating the daily moisture content reduction values of the bamboo,performing correlation test on the daily moisture content reduction values and the corresponding bamboo moisture content reduction actual measurement values to obtain a formula coefficient, and establishing a moisture content calculation model; and calculating the real-time moisture content of the round bamboo air dry material according to the initial moisture content of the round bamboo and thedaily environmental paramet
