Signal lamp system and control method thereof

The invention relates to a signal lamp system and a control method thereof. The signal lamp system is arranged at a main intersection and a bifurcation. The signal lamp system comprises a left-turn vehicle detection module, a bifurcation signal lamp module and a main intersection signal lamp module which are in wired connection with one another, wherein the left-turn vehicle detection module is used for detecting whether a vehicle turns left or not and detecting a number of left-turn vehicles; the bifurcation signal lamp module and the main intersection signal lamp module are respectively provided with a plurality of signal lamps which are respectively used for regulating and controlling the movement of traffic flow and pedestrians; and the bifurcation signal lamp module and the main intersection signal lamp module are respectively used for controlling the color and time of the signal lamps based on the detection results of the vehicle detection module. Conflict between left-turn vehicles and straight-going v
