A animal litter box (1) comprises: a main body (10) for receiving animal waste; and a cover part (20) removably mounted over the main body (10), longitudinally and laterally enclosed by a wall part (21), and open at the top. The cover part (20) has a cutout (25) in at least one portion of the longitudinally- and laterally-disposed wall part (21). The cutout (25) serves as a portal and allows the animal to enter and exit.
