According to the preparation method of the ultraviolet light absorber UV-1600 intermediate, the HCl gas is taken as the cocatalyst, thus the catalytic activity of a catalytic system is greatly improved, the yield of the product can be greatly increased, and a new process route is provided for industrial production of UV-1600.
