The theme of the invention is to provide the method for producing solanone, which is important as a perfume compound, industrially and in large quantity in a few steps and by a safe technique. A novel morpholine amide compound is provided as a synthetic intermediate of an effective production method of solanone by subjecting N-(3-methyl-1-butenyl)piperidine to a Michael addition reaction using 4-acryloyl morpholine, generating a novel aldehyde by subsequent acid hydrolysis, and subjecting the aldehyde to a Wittig reaction.
