description The invention belongs to the technical field of resin, and particularly relates to an alkyd resin as well as a preparation method of same. The alkyd resin includes, by weight, 214-235 parts of fatty acid, 259-291 parts of phthalic anhydride, 0-43 parts of benzoic acid, 0-142 parts of pentaerythritol, 0-187 parts of glycerin, 0-68 parts of ethylene glycol, 0.05-0.1 parts of hypophosphorous acid, 0.08-0.12 parts of an antioxidant, and 269-335 parts of dimethylbenzene. In the method, the ratio of fatty acid to other components is reasonable, so that the alkyd resin, synthesized through the two-step process, is anti-yellowing and weather-resistant.
