The embodiment of the invention provides a shooting method and a terminal. The shooting method comprises the steps of obtaining a residual system memory after a camera is started up; if the residual system memory is less than a first preset memory threshold, calling a camera control interface provided by the system to carry out configuration so as to enable the camera to work in a non-zero delay shooting mode; and in response to a shooting instruction triggered by a user, controlling the camera to shoot based on the configured shooting mode.
