Method and device for initiating application program and mobile terminal

An embodiment of the present application provides a method for initiating an application program. The method comprises the following steps: displaying a preset validation interface when a particular icon control is triggered, wherein the particular icon control is associated with a plurality of application programs; receiving validation information submitted based on the validation interface; determining a target application program matching the validation information among the plurality of application programs associated with the particular icon control; and initiating the target application program.
