The method comprises the following steps: playing a file request message which is sent by a play client and used for acquiring the non-HLS media file; acquiring the non-HLS media file according to the file request message; slicing and transcoding the non-HLS media file to obtain a ts file; generating an m3u8 file corresponding to the non-HLS media file according to the ts file, wherein the m3u8 file comprises a uniform resource locator (URL) of the non-HLS file; and transmitting the m3u8 file to the play client, so that the play client acquires the ts file of the non-HLS media file through the URL, and plays the non-HLS media file through the ts file.
