According to the groove position design method for the counterbored outer ring angular contact ball bearing, for a bearing outer ring with an assembling lock opening, the wide side end face of the bearing outer ring serves as the outer ring datum plane, and the distance ae between a groove of the bearing outer ring and the outer ring datum plane is ae=B/2+(Ri+Re-Dw)*[sin(15 DEG)+ sin(25 DEG)]/2; the axial end face, deviating from the outer ring datum plane, in two axial end faces of the bearing inner ring serves as an inner ring datum plane, and the distance ai between a groove of the bearing inner ring and the inner ring datum plane is ai= B/2+(Ri+Re-Dw)*[sin(25 DEG)-sin(15 DEG)]/2, wherein Ri is the radius of the g
