Method and device for filtering data

The invention discloses a method and device for filtering data. The method comprises the steps that a filter control associated with a data set is displayed; a pre-defined operation of a user for the filter control is responded, and attribute values of data items in the data set are displayed; filter conditions set by the user for at least one attribute value which is selected from the displayed attribute values are received; the filter control is divided into a first filter control body and a second filter control body according to the filter conditions, wherein the first filter control body is associated with a first data subset, the second filter control body is associated with a second data subset, the first data subset comprises the data items which have at least one selected attribute value in the data set, and the second data subset comprises the other data items in the data set.
