description The invention discloses a searching method for energy spectrum with close peak positions suitable for neutron activation element analysis. The method comprises the following steps: numbering files in a spectrum-form knowledge base, constructing an index file which is a binary number of which the bit length is equal to the number of spectrum forms according to peak position information, carrying out corresponding Boolean calculation on the index file to obtain a spectrum form meeting a searching requirement in the spectrum-from knowledge base. According to the searching method, the spectrum form with a peak position close to the actually measured spectrum form can be quickly and accurately found out from the spectrum-form knowledge base, particularly when the quantity of the spectrum form files in the spectrum-form knowledge base is large enough and is much larger than a total address quantity of the spectrum form files. The advantages of the method are obviously embodied.
