The edge trimmer track protection method includes that detecting whether a panel is super-long and super-high before the panel enters an edge trimmer; if the panel is not super-long and super-high, allowing the panel to enter the edge trimmer; when the panel enters the edge trimmer, detecting whether the panel is inclined; if the panel is not inclined, detecting whether the panel detention time is longer than a preset time at an edge trimmer track outlet; if the panel detention time is shorter than or equal to the preset time, allowing the edge trimmer track to run normally. Through increasing the detection limit and dividing a plasterboard which may lead to equipment fault at a sorting roller way, the equipment operation rate of the edge trimmer can be improved, and the edge trimmer track fracture is avoided.
