The method comprises that a connection request of a client is received, and the connection request includes the present connection gateway IP of the client; an access address list matching the present connection gateway IP is configured for the client, the access address list comprises at least one group of access addresses, and each group of access addresses comprises an access IP and an access port corresponding to the access IP; and the access address list is issued to the client, so that the client can establish long connection with the server according to the access address list. The method and device can effectively overcome the problem that gateway strategies of different service providers or the same service provider in different regions are different, and ensures the stability of the long connection which is established between the client and the server via the access address list.
