The method comprises the steps that a terminal interaction module on a home gateway side sends acquired terminal state data generated by different types of terminals to a far-end interaction module on the home gateway side; the far-end interaction module uploads the terminal state data to a far end directly and sends received control instructions to the terminal interaction module, wherein the control instructions are generated after logical operation processing is performed on the terminal state data by the far end; the terminal interaction module sends the control instructions to the corresponding terminals, and the terminals execute operations according to the control instructions. By the combination of the thin type home gateway and the far end, the types and number of home gateways are reduced, and the management and maintenance cost is lowered; by the utilization of the service logic processing capacity of the far end, the service logic complexity of the home gateway is lowered, and the performance stability of the home gateway is improved; by the frequent upgrading of the far end, function expansion of the home gateway is facilitated.
