The invention relates to a training method for students in high engineering colleges, in particular to a training method capable of saving materials for metalwork training courses. The training method comprises the following steps: materials are processed by various crafts into parts with required shapes and sizes and the parts are used as test pieces for a heat treatment experiment in engineering material courses; after the heat treatment experiment, the parts are reused in metalwork training courses to be processed; and the materials are recycled by the above steps till the materials can not be processed any more.
