The invention discloses a surface mounted device (SMD) sensor device for detecting local discharge of a power cable terminal head. The device is characterized in that an SMD sensor device consists of a sensor (1), a trigger signal coupler (2) and a signal processing unit (3), wherein the signal processing unit (3) consists of a gating circuit (4), an auxiliary circuit (5), a trigger signal conditioning circuit (6) and a data acquiring unit (7); a signal output by the sensor is connected with the data acquiring unit (7) through the gating circuit (4) and the auxiliary circuit (5) in sequence; and a signal output by the trigger signal coupler (2) is connected with the data acquiring unit (7) through the trigger signal conditioning circuit (6) in sequence. The device provided by the invention has the advantages of wide frequency band response, low cost, small and smart volume and easiness in installation.
