The invention discloses a lithium battery and a preparation method thereof, relating to a primary battery. An anode material of the lithium battery comprises 65-90 percent by mass of anode material active substances CuFeS2 and 35-10 percent by mass of carbon-containing conducting agent through mixing, a cathode material is metal lithium, electrolyte is mixed solvent type organic electrolyte; and the anode material active substances CuFeS2 are nano crystals with purity being not less than 95 percent, the mixed solvent type organic electrolyte is a solution formed from a lithium hexafluorophosphate solute with concentration of 1M in an ethylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate mixed system solvent, wherein ethylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate are prepared into the mixed system solvent according to the mass ratio of 2:2:1, and the battery anode sheet made of the anode material, the cathode made of a lithium material and the electrolyte are assembled to form the battery.
