description The invention relates to a method and a system for releasing service information by a server cluster based on an SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). In the method, firstly, an SIP network entity sends a request to servers in an SIP server cluster and establishes relations with the serves; secondly, the servers establishing relations with the SIP network entity periodically send the service information of the servers in the server cluster to the SIP network entity; and thirdly, changed service information is sent to the SIP network entity when the service information is changed. By adopting the invention, corresponding processing can be carried out according to the information, and the functions of service discovering, load sharing and failure switching are realized.
