Input method and device

The embodiment of the invention relates to an inputting method that includes searching in the stored data according to the information inputted in the input area; displaying the search results; and choosing any of the search results for display in the input area. The embodiment of the invention further relates to an inputting device which includes a searching module used for searching in the stored data according to the information inputted in the input area; a display module for displaying the search results; and a selecting module used for selecting any search result for displaying in the input area. Therefore, the searching method and device of the embodiment of the invention can search conveniently and simply using various kinds of information stored in a mobile terminal and replace the input with the search results, thus making effective use of the stored information, effectively reducing the input amount and saving time.
