Zusammenfassung:	A simple disposable absorbent article, which can be a pull-on garment, includes a chassis and an absorbent assembly. A belt is fastenable to the chassis, and both the belt and the chassis can be independently extensible or substantially inextensible. The belt can be fastened to the chassis at opposing ends, at least one of which being releasable and refastenable to induce a tension in the belt and a contractive force on the underlying chassis, thereby enhancing the fit of the garment at the wearer's waist. The belt can further define a frangible region that can be broken to define opposing outer ends, at least one of which can be drawn and refastened to induce the contractive force on the underlying chassis.
