description In an electrical plug contact arrangement for a switching device with at least two contact pieces which move against each other, a known method is that one contact piece has at its free end, which faces the other, opposite contact piece, a contact lamination cage with sprung contact laminations, which make the electrical connection with the opposite contact piece. In such a contact arrangement, so that it is possible to move the contact pieces in and out reciprocally in both the axial (longitudinal) direction and the radial (at right angles to the longitudinal) direction, and furthermore to move them in and out at right angles to the axial direction and the respective radial direction if they depart from their nominal position, the essentially U-shaped contact lamination cage (1), which has the contact laminations (4) arranged in packages in its two profile legs (1a, 1b), is coupled to the cross-pieces (1c) which link the two profile legs (1a, 1b) so that it can be swivelled, by fasteners (6) at the free end (2a) of one contact piece, which is in the form of a contact flange (2). The plug contact arrangement can thus compensate not only assembly tolerances, but also heat expansion and elastic oscillations between the contact pieces (2, 3).
