1298383 Pressurized dispensing containers COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 9 March 1970 [7 April 1969] 11185/70 Heading F1R [Also in Division B1] A connecting device facilitating the simultaneous mixing and discharge of the contents of two oppositely aligned pressurized containers 11, 12 comprises an upper and lower member 22, 21 adapted to engage with the container rims and having bores 56, 57 within a member 50 for cooperation with their respective valve stems such that on pressing the containers together the contents are discharged into a mixing chamber 58 and to eflux via a spout 51. The upper member 22 has a transverse annular wall 34 integral with the spout and, arranged about the periphery, legs 41, adapted for co-operation with arcuate slots 31 provided in the lower member 21. The engaging of the legs and slots allows the container to be held rigidly apart without relative movement but on rotation of the lower member the legs are guided by the slots into a wider aperture (32), Fig. 8 (not shown) where axial compression of the container and hence actuation of the valves may occur. A non-return valve may be provided in the bores 56, 57 and the containers may also be enclosed in a shaped housing.
