[Also in Division E1] Skeleton frames are constructed from bars 1 having a slot 11 widening towards the inner part of the bar and a connecting element 2 having at least two diverging legs 21, 22, 23 fittable within the slot 11, the bars and connecting element being clamped together by a hexagonal plate 24 and a screw acting on the common bisector of the angles between the legs. The exterior of the bar and of the element 2 may be part cylindrical and part spherical respectively and the plate 24 may be convex to dig into soft material of the bar 1, the face of which stands proud of the corresponding faces of the connecting element. The bars may be notched at 12 to receive cladding sheets secured to butt straps 3 also engaged with the slot 11. |
