The co-polymer compositions, particles and surgical devices biodegrade in vivo by enzymatic action to release bioactive agents in a controlled manner over time as well as biocompatible breakdown products, including one to multiple different amino acids. La présente invention concerne des formules biodégradables et biocompatibles de copolymères poly(ester amide) (PEA) et poly(ester uréthane) (PEUR) contenant des diesters de bis-(.alpha.-amino acyl)-diol dont les propriétés mécaniques peuvent être facilement ajustées par la sélection de diverses combinaisons et proportions des motifs constitutifs des copolymères.
