Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste : à introduire les déchets contenant du métal, de préférence en continu, dans une chambre de traitement ; à les traiter thermiquement tout en les mélangeant intensément en continu ; à en extraire les composants organiques en continu, puis à oxyder ces derniers, et ; à évacuer de la chambre de traitement, sensiblement en continu, les composants contenant du métal en tant que conglomérats métalliques, ainsi que les autres composants inorganiques qui ne contiennent pas de métal. La présente invention se rapporte en outre à une installation servant à la mise en oeuvre de ce procédé.
