Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a distributed processing system which allows a processing stack, such as a Bluetooth stack, to be split between different locations using a communications link. This enables a transceiver to be located in a position within a building so as to provide wireless connectivi ty to a specified area, whilst a second portion of the processing stack which allows the wireless connections to be controlled can be positioned at a location remote to the transceiver. This allows centralized processing to be achieved, whilst allowing distributed piconets to provide wireless connectivity to other devices over a wide footprint area.
