METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRYING A PAPER WEB
A method and apparatus for drying a paper web, in which method the paper web(W) is dried against the heated cylinder surfaces of the drying cylinders (20, 24, 24'; 410) and by means of air impingement drying with at least one air impingement module (M0, M1, M2, M3; 434, 634, 734). The final moi...

Zusammenfassung: | A method and apparatus for drying a paper web, in which method the paper web(W) is dried against the heated cylinder surfaces of the drying cylinders (20, 24, 24'; 410) and by means of air impingement drying with at least one air impingement module (M0, M1, M2, M3; 434, 634, 734). The final moisture content of the paper web (W) and/or its quality and/or cross-direction profile are regulated by adjusting the efficiency of air impingement drying. To optimise drying and/or power comsumption, the paper web coming from the press section can be first be dried by means of at least one drying cylinder group to an average dry matter content of > 70 %, after which the web is fed to a device controlling drying, profiling and curling, in which the dry matter content of the paper web is regulated to the desired level by blowing hot air or steam jets towards the paper web.
