Zusammenfassung:Disclosed is a biaxially oriented film made of (A) a polyester mainly composed of ethylene terephthalate and (B) a polyether imide and having a single glass transition temperature, a refractive index of 1.60 to 1.80 at least in either a machine direction or a transverse direction. The biaxially oriented film is excellent in thermal dimensional stability, clarity and productivity, and is suitable for use in magnetic recording tape, magnetic recording card, printing plate, ribbon, capacitor, heat-sensitive mimeograph stencil or the like.
