Zusammenfassung:	RETENTION AND DRAINAGE AID FOR PAPERMAKING A papermaking stock comprising cellulose fibers in an aqueous medium at a concentration of preferably about 50% by weight of the total solids in the stock including a retention and dewatering aid comprising a two component combination of an anionic polyacrylamide and a cationic colloidal silicia sol. The stock exhibits enhanced resistance to shear forces during the papermaking process. A papermaking process is also described.
