Zusammenfassung: | The present invention provides a damper useful in combination with a stove having an adjustable air inlet and a flue, the stove typically being utilized to burn wood. The damper comprises a housing with a valve opening and adapted to mount on the flue with the interior of the housing communicating with the interior of the flue. A valve, preferably a pivotally mounted flap, is disposed in the valve opening and is movable between an open and closed position. A control which usefully comprises weights or other means, is connected to the valve so that when the damper is in use, the control will open the valve when the air inlet of the stove is in a substantially closed position, and will substantially close the valve in response to an opening of the air inlet to an open position. Use of the damper as described in a flue inhibits creosote formation therein. |
